Frequently Asked Questions:

What should I expect from Nutritional Therapy?

Since everyone has a different set of circumstances surrounding their current health, it will be important for us to examine all the unique factors that make up your ”story”.  This includes looking at your health history, familial background, dietary patterns, environmental challenges, as well as lifestyle and exercise routines.

Prior to our first meeting, I will ask you to fill out several questionnaires.  You can request these forms here.

You will receive a report from the Nutritional Assessment Questionnaire (NAQ) during our first visit.  Please fill out this email form, including your birthdate, and I will send you an invitation to fill out this questionnaire.

What will we do on our first visit?

During our first visit we will focus on identifying the best ways to begin addressing your concerns.  We will examine your food choices, your lifestyle habits, and perform a functional evaluation(*).  The functional evaluation is a clinical tool that can be used to assess your individualized biochemical needs and make appropriate, personalized diet and lifestyle recommendations.

What will I be expected to do?

I will ask that you do your best to try out the recommendations that we agree to in our sessions together.  These may include some dietary modifications, the use of supplements, specific exercises, changes in daily habits, and changes in personal care products such as cleaners, and cosmetics.

I already follow a good diet.  How will you make changes to that?

Sometimes even “healthy food” can cause problems for some people.  We will spend time configuring a plan that is specific to your needs.

How long will it take before I see results?

As you might expect, that depends!  There are many variables that make it important that this process be individualized for you!  For example, we will take into consideration your current health status, how complex your ideal program is and how fast you want to proceed towards your goals.   Some changes are easy to implement, while others require a great deal more effort and time.
